Soh Guan Chin (Joshua Yuan-Jin Su) (Revd. Dr.)
Founder & International President, The Joshua Mission

The Lord had led me to found this Mission as His servant to serve Him in the prophetic ministry of His Word to strengthen and build biblically rooted leaders and disciples in the Church and in the world to prepare His Church to be ready for His return. The initial leading for this Mission came in 1991 when I was still in Aberdeen, Scotland, doing my doctorate in Systematic Theology with the University of Aberdeen. It continued to develop over the years after I completed my degree in 1993 and returned to Singapore to serve in theological education and parish ministry, while continue to grow this Mission as the Spirit led me.

In mid-2003, the time came to step out of parish ministry to do this Mission full-time. Since then, the Mission underwent many stages of development. At this time, in 2021, it has operated for more 18 years, if you count from 2003. But for more than 30 years, if you count from when it first began in Aberdeen, with its first group of members.

By the great grace of Christ, the Mission has now 14 countries with active network or members, not counting Singapore, where I am based. These are Burundi, Congo DRC, India, Indonesia, Kenya, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Nigeria, Pakistan, Rwanda, Sri Lanka, Tanzania, and Uganda.

My ministry, prior to when I received the leading to start this Mission, included church-planting, serving on local church committees and the synod of the Diocese of Singapore as a lay leader. After ordination in 1985 as an Anglican clergy, I oversaw different congregations and parishes in Singapore, served on the Theological Education Board, was an Examining Chaplain for ordination, and was briefly on the Board of Trinity Theological College. I was an Associate Pastor with a local church while in Aberdeen and was an adviser to the Chinese Christian Fellowship in the city. I had served as a lecturer & as Dean of Tung Ling Bible College. I continue to lecture, supervise or examine students in Bible colleges as invited.

My academic qualifications are Ph.D (Systematic Theology), University of Aberdeen; Master of Divinity (M.Div.), Trinity Theological College, Singapore; and Bachelor of Arts (BA), University of Singapore (now the National University of Singapore).

Prior to my full-time theological training in 1983, I was a business executive holding different posts in the shipping industry after completing my first degree.

My wife is Sherin (Sui Heng) & my two sons are Joseph & Benjamin.
